Edward F. Welsh III (83) of Gates Mills, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on February 24, 2025. His life was defined by a steadfast commitment to his work, family and his community.Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Ed attended University School, Rollins College and Case Western Reserve University before he started his career in computer sales with IBM and later Avery Dennison and Symbol Technologies. Instead of retiring, Ed started a new career to fulfill his desire to help others. Ed became an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), serving with pride as a paramedic for Midwest Medical Transport and the Ellicottville, NY Fire Department. He loved providing care to those in need and was committed to his community.Ed lived in and loved the Village of Gates Mills for 55 years. He was passionate about local governance and served on council for the Village of Gates Mills for 24 of those years. He worked hard to preserve the small-town atmosphere of the Village.
